Central section of Kamala Beach on Phuket

Kamala Beach with its two kilometers of white sand has become a popular tourist destination in recent years. The village scores with a lovely road offering lots of nice restaurants and shops that make it perfect for nighttime walks. Great advantage here is the largely absence of traffic which is really a rarity on Phuket.

The northern part of the beach is ideal for swimming and also the more beautiful section, because the beach is not so wide, it is less loaded with sunchairs and the bay is framed with some rocks at the end and big old Casuarina trees in the back.

The central section is very wide and lacks intimacy with the village and some brackwater in the back. But new coconut palms already add some flair here.

The southern part of the beach is occupied by the boats of the local fishermen. This area is very shallow and especially at low tide not suitable for swimming.
