Karon Beach is a hugh straight and wide sandy beach of four kilometers in length, offering unlimited opportunities for sunbathing and swimming in the sea. Even so there is an endless row of sunchairs, the beach is not the crammed like Patong Beach.

The busy main road runs parallel to the beach, separating the beach from the city. This is not generally a problem as big dunes covered with green vegetation and lots of newly planted coconut palms screen the view when you are at the beach. In addition to the dunes a small waterway also supports the feeling of not being exposed to the traffic. But in some areas with lower or no dunes we consider the proximity to the road as a drawback.

Karon is one of the most popular tourist destinations on Phuket. Compared with Patong there is less hustle and bustle, nonetheless Karon offers lots of shopping and nightlife, especially around the northern and southern end of the beach.
