Pon Beach or Nai Yair Beach by another name is a dream of a beach, totally lonely, no tourists, no houses, just dramatic, pure nature. It is a small bay with white sand mixed with shingle, shells and fragments of corals plus five derelict wooden sunchairs for the most private and original beach experience on Phuket. Just the road is difficult to find with no sign showing the direction and it is also quite a tough ride over hundreds of chuckholes.
But there is another a drawback: Rocks in the water make swimming impossible with low tide. So we would suggest to enjoy the place for its unique scenery, not so much for playing in the water. The time to do so is probably limited, as you must cross private land to go there. This access could easily be cut off one day in the future to make this gem one of the virtually ”private” beaches. |
